The Marchesi 1824 Pandoro, the result of almost two centuries of research and passion, is presented with its classic veil of powdered sugar. Under the white veil of powdered sugar, the great leavened cake reveals its distinctive gold colour that comes from the use of fresh butter from the Piedmont hills and fresh eggs of free-range hens. The flavour is enriched with Bourbon vanilla of Madagascar. Everything is mixed into a dough, the recipe of which has been handed down from one generation to another. The slow rising process, which occurs with the exclusive use of Marchesi yeast starter, gives the Pandoro its unmistakable softness and aroma. Compared to ordinary yeast, production with yeast starter requires more time and care to permit the development of microorganisms that possess many beneficial qualities and have a unique flavour.
