Housed in an elegant package and enhanced by three 100-gram tubes of Sicilian Pistachio cream, it is the perfect gift for a Christmas with a different flavor. In this great leavened cake, Marchesi's classic dough -- which is the result of slow and skilful process exclusively using sourdough starter -- is enhanced with the flavour of two of the finest ingredients from Sicily. Compared to common yeasts, sourdough requires more time and care during the leavening process to allow for the development of microorganisms that offer multiple beneficial qualities and a truly unique flavour.
