This cake was born in the Lake Como area in the early twentieth century as a tribute to the birth of Princess Jolanda of Savoy. It is compact in texture yet delicate and soft. Potato starch is the main ingredient that characterizes this cake, enhanced by a veil of powdered sugar. It is a regal cake, both due to its crown shape and its delicacy and elegance.
